The UK’s largest rail exhibition
Over 7000 professionals from across the railway attend the two-day event at the Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre every year, featuring rolling stock on display, over 300 exhibitors, key expert speakers from the industry and live demonstrations of technology and plant.

Visualising the
future of rail
The track, which is the UK’s only continuous test loop, allows trains to test at speeds of up to 50mph around the outer loop and is suitable for 25kV static and dynamic testing.
Access to 24-hour security, high-quality facilities, close collaboration with local suppliers and operational staff on hand means a full turnkey solution tailored to your needs.
Supporting biodiversity at Long Marston
As part of the upgrades, Porterbrook completed a baseline assessment to achieve a 10% Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) by improving existing habitats and creating new ones.
To demonstrate this work, visitors were able to take a biodiversity walk around the site with Dr Neil Strong, Network Rail’s Biodiversity Strategy Manager.

HydroFLEX at Rail
Live 2025
Also on display during Rail Live was HydroFLEX, with a brand-new livery to celebrate Railway 200. On board, visitors heard from the Porterbrook team who have worked on the development and testing of the train, toured the hydrochamber, and participated in The Hydrogen Challenge.
Celebrating Railway 200
Always a highlight in the Porterbrook marquee is the ice cream, which many enjoyed over the hot two days while speaking to the team from the National Railway Museum. To mark Railway 200, the museum showcased a series of Railway Firsts, highlighting the stories that have shaped the industry.
