Porterbrook joins GB Railfreight for Greenbrier Poland visit

Last week our Porterbrook team travelled to Poland alongside colleagues from GB Railfreight (GBRf) to visit the Greenbrier factory in Olawa, where 100 new FEA-G Intermodal Twin Wagons have been manufactured over the last year.

The trip was an excellent opportunity to come together and explore further opportunities to drive rail freight growth in the UK.

This twin container wagon type (FEA-G) is a first of its kind for the UK rail freight market. It allows for a higher volume of freight to be transported on each rail journey, enabling GBRf to increase its intermodal freight capacity.

With each tonne of freight transported by rail producing 76% less carbon than road haulage, the new wagons will support the Green Recovery and Porterbrook’s mission to deliver a more sustainable railway.
